As an inclusive Christian presence in the community for over 400 years, we have declared our purpose to be “To continue to be a beacon of God’s love in the community; to offer life-long loving care and support to all, to draw them closer to God; to inspire prayer and worship through the beauty of art, music and liturgy.”
To promote wellness and wholeness, we hold an open service of the Laying on of Hands with Prayer and Anointing for Healing twice each month, as well as a weekly virtual prayer group where any need is offered up to God.
Pre-COVID we hosted a weekly “Stop Falls” group for Age UK as well as a weekly drop-in café under the “Places of Welcome” scheme. We hope to be able to re-start both of these as soon as possible.
The architecture, art and music in our building is all part of creating a place of calm and prayerful reflection for all. We have recently started a “Friends of the Christ Church Garden” group to develop our outside space for the community through working and resting, and as a haven for wildlife as we are a Silver Eco-church.
HHH Services offered
On the first and third Tuesday of every month at 7.00pm we hold a service of the Laying on of Hands with Prayer and Anointing for Healing within a Celebration of Holy Communion.
