How We Work

In everything we do, we seek to be compassionate, inspiring, and empowering.

Being Compassionate

Because of how God loves us—and recognising how tough life can be—we meet ourselves and others with loving attention, gentleness, and acceptance.

Being Inspiring

In all our work, we hope people (including ourselves!) leave feeling energised, encouraged, and renewed in hope.

Being Empowering

After encountering us, we want people to recognise the power they already have to make a positive impact—and to feel confident enough to use it.

Our Approach

We believe people flourish when faith, science and community all work together – that’s the heart of how we approach health and healing. We’re openly Christian, and we welcome people of all beliefs and backgrounds, host a wide range of voices, and ask everyone in our community to engage with honesty, kindness and respect. This isn’t just theory – it shapes real decisions: who we invite to speak, how we handle disagreement, and how we keep our spaces safe and welcoming, day by day.

The way we work and what we do are shaped by what theology and science show – we are holistic beings. We flourish when we take this seriously. To help us do this, our approach weaves together three vital strands:

  • Our Christian faith, spirituality and theology
  • Healthcare and medicine informed by robust science and research
  • Our communities

1. Our Christian faith, spirituality and theology

Health is understood in the Christian faith to be holistic, and we flourish when we are integrated with God, and our communities.

2. Healthcare and medicine informed by robust science and research

We value and engage with the scientific study and evidence-based practice of health; these are gifts which inform human flourishing. Our approach actively breaks down siloed thinking, to value curiosity in the interdisciplinary thinking in the study of God’s world.

Science thrives on evidence, careful scrutiny, debate, and ongoing refinement. As we bring faith and community into the study of health, we reference carefully to be accurate and responsible.

3. Our communities

Both the scientific study of health and deep Christian wisdom recognise that community and connection are at the heart of health. This is why we love the phrase – belonging is healing: it reflects why we pour energy into creating gathering spaces and resourcing our churches and those who lead them.

Our values in action

Figuring out how to live these values well is something we work at every day. They shape how we create and select content, host our spaces, and engage with partners – and with one another. Below are some of the specific ways we try to stay true to what we believe. We explore the voices we platform, our Christian identity and commitment to welcome, our boundaries, and what all this means for our community.

A Note on the Voices We Platform

We host a wide range of voices working in the fields of health, healing and theology. We believe that learning is enriched when we listen widely and engage thoughtfully.

Featuring a speaker or contributor does not imply endorsement of every view they hold or every action they may have taken. If you are surprised to see someone featured, do let us know.

Our commitment remains to create spaces that are safe, compassionate and rooted in integrity for all who engage with our work.

Our Christian Identity and Our Commitment to Welcome

As a Christian organisation, our work is shaped openly and unapologetically by the life and love of Jesus Christ. This is the well we draw from and the story that guides our vision of healing, justice and human flourishing.

At the same time, we are committed to being a genuinely inclusive organisation. We welcome people of all faiths and none, all backgrounds, and all identities. You do not need to share our beliefs to belong, learn, or contribute within our community.

We recognise that some may question how we hold together a clear Christian identity with an open and diverse welcome. For us, these are not competing commitments. Our faith calls us to create spaces marked by dignity, compassion and hospitality for everyone.

Our Boundaries

While we welcome questions, critique and honest disagreement, we do not accept hate speech, harassment or abusive behaviour towards anyone – whether directed at our Christian foundations or at any individual or group. We will always protect the safety and wellbeing of those who engage with us.

Our aim is to foster conversations that are respectful, thoughtful and generous, even when perspectives differ. This is part of how we seek to model healing and hope in the public square.

Our Community Guidelines

We are a community, and we help create community spaces – so how we engage together matters. Our Community Guidelines set out what this looks like in practice, helping us keep our spaces safe, respectful and welcoming for all.
