This month, building on the keynote address from Brooke Prentis at our Festival of Healing, we will be exploring an embodied approach to creation care, looking at the ways that science should inform us as Christians and linking this into the questions of how each of us respond to the climate crisis. Â
GoHealth Community members – Book your free place at the next online gathering of the GoHealth Community. It is a chance to meet with others, explore our themes, pray for those in need and hang out with Wendy, Graham and Gillian.
Why are we meeting?
One of the key aims of The GoHealth Community is not only to share reflections, prayers and practices that help us deepen faith and its links to our own health and healing, but to do it as a community. Afterall our tag line is ‘Together we Flourish’. But this is not just a pithy slogan – it holds deep truths reflecting how we are created by God, and how we can live most fully into our potential as human beings.
What are the health and faith benefits of gatherings?
The integration of body-mind-and-soul is essential for health and wellbeing, but our health is not just dependent on our individuality; human health is inextricably linked with out community and wider world. Therefore, the holistic health that we aim to promote at the Guild is enabled through just and flourishing communities. We all know that faith and spirituality are part of human health and wellbeing – but this has a key communal component too. Every community of faith can be a place of healing for individuals, the wider community and the wider world.
The Guild of Health and St Raphael joins in this work bringing together faith, engagement with healthcare and community (both inperson and in our online gatherings) to offer a vision and approach that can address need and help enable health and wellbeing for all. We are not setting ourselves up as the perfect, or the healed – far from it! We are people who journey together as we are, shouldering inevitable disappointments. With our health challenges and the pain of the world, we are learning how to make a difference and live well.
And that’s why we are hosting these online gatherings! By sharing what we have been gifted and what we are learning, more people – and the wider world – can flourish.
