GoHealth Community members – Book your free place at the next online gathering of the GoHealth Community. It is a chance to meet with others, explore our themes, pray for those in need and hang out with Wendy, Graham and Gillian.
This month in the GoHealth Community we’ve been exploring vocation and leadership — listening to voices such as Gillian Straine, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and Wendy Ball, and reflecting on what faithful leadership looks like in a turbulent world.
With the backdrop of conflict in Iran and the deeply troubling tone of political leadership we’re seeing globally, we’ve been asking some honest questions together. What kind of leadership heals rather than harms? What does it mean to lead well when power can so easily become domination — and when service can slip into burnout and over-sacrifice?
Jesus seemed to embody something different: a leadership that was deeply grounded, clear, and courageous, yet profoundly oriented toward the flourishing of others.
In our monthly online gathering we’ll be drawing these threads together. We’ll explore the tension between:
- servant leadership that can sometimes lead people to over-give themselves, and
- clear, differentiated leadership that holds boundaries but can slide into control.
And we’ll ask together: what does wise, healthy leadership look like for us now?
These gatherings are open to all GoHealth community members – a space for thoughtful conversation, reflection, and mutual encouragement.
You would be very welcome to join us.
Why are we meeting?
One of the key aims of The GoHealth Community is not only to share reflections, prayers and practices that help us deepen faith and its links to our own health and healing, but to do it as a community. Afterall our tag line is ‘Together we Flourish’. But this is not just a pithy slogan – it holds deep truths reflecting how we are created by God, and how we can live most fully into our potential as human beings.
What are the health and faith benefits of gatherings?
The integration of body-mind-and-soul is essential for health and wellbeing, but our health is not just dependent on our individuality; human health is inextricably linked with out community and wider world. Therefore, the holistic health that we aim to promote at the Guild is enabled through just and flourishing communities. We all know that faith and spirituality are part of human health and wellbeing – but this has a key communal component too. Every community of faith can be a place of healing for individuals, the wider community and the wider world.
The Guild of Health and St Raphael joins in this work bringing together faith, engagement with healthcare and community (both inperson and in our online gatherings) to offer a vision and approach that can address need and help enable health and wellbeing for all. We are not setting ourselves up as the perfect, or the healed – far from it! We are people who journey together as we are, shouldering inevitable disappointments. With our health challenges and the pain of the world, we are learning how to make a difference and live well.
And that’s why we are hosting these online gatherings! By sharing what we have been gifted and what we are learning, more people – and the wider world – can flourish.
