Healing in Different Traditions

This is the second of two issues of Chrism in which we seek to explore the way in which different traditions in the Church view the ministry of healing. This edition focuses on the Charismatic and Liberal approaches.

In our first article, Bishop Graham Dow explains how just as healing was central to the ministry of Jesus and the New Testament Church, so for Charismatics it is also central to both their theology and practice.

The second article is by Dr Derek Fraser, who is the Lead Chaplain at Addenbrook’s Hospital in Cambridge. In a wide ranging survey, both practical and theological, he speaks positively and in depth of the many questions the ministry of healing raises, and of the need for ‘sensitivity and openness’ amongst those who practice it.
