The aim of the project is to resource your church to respond to how God is calling you to be a place of healing in your context.
Step 1: The Introduction to the Healing Ministry course
Introduction to the Christian Healing Ministry will lay the foundations of this journey that you are embarking on, covering the history of the healing ministry, a theology of healing, good practice and how the healing of the church relates to the healing offered by medicine and psychology.
To achieve the bronze level, this course must be attended by five people in your community. By engaging as a group, this course aims to excite and motivate church members in the potential of the healing ministry as part of the broad mission of the church.
Here is what people have said about the course:
94% of attendees said that the course met their expectations.

“The course has really helped focus our church’s thinking on how we can serve the community best in a new post-pandemic world.”
Rev’d Dr Chrichton Limbert, Christ Church Southgate (Church leader who came on the course with a group)
“I really enjoyed this course. It gave a very interesting overview of what we might mean when we speak of healing, wellness, suffering and our shared humanity – all within the context of the Christian faith and our relationship with God. All aspects of the course – the direct teaching, short films, discussion groups and reading suggestions – have started me on a journey of discovery that is still continuing. Thank you so much.”
Cath Callaghan (Individual course attendee)
If you would like more people to attend, or if you would like us to come to you and offer the training to a larger number, then do get in contact.
The course can also be attended by individuals who are interested in exploring the healing ministry. Church groups and even chaplaincies have signed up – do get in touch if you want to explore your group getting badged.
Step 2: Sign the Good Practice Charter
All memberships are grounded in the adoption of the Good Practice in the Healing Ministry Charter by your church – this encourages best practice and helps your church to be recognised as a hub.
The Charter proclaims what people can expect from your church and everyone that comes into contact with your ministry, and it also helps to protect you and your community as it states clearly what you are aiming to do. It is a badge that you can take to people that you might hope to work with, such as your local GP surgery, as it offers clarity in what is sometimes a misunderstood field. In order for us to recognise you as a HHH your church leadership needs to agree to abide by this charter which includes displaying it in your church).
Step 3: Become a Hub
Once your church has agreed the Charter, then you can apply to be a Hub.
Once you have sent us the Charter, we will send you a link to set up your monthly Direct Debit, build your HHH page and go live on the map. Link your personal account to your hub and start building your community.
Step 4: Being an HHH
Your support begins the moment your site is live.
We’ll help you to grow your Hub with the following:
- The Good Practice in the Healing Ministry guidebook PDF
- Regular email resource bundles
- Access to discounted events
- Connections with members of your church who are in the GoHealth community
- Membership of the Facebook group.
Bronze tier and beyond
…in 2022 we will be opening up the silver tier to membership which will include training, online courses and peer to peer learning groups.
