Being healthy isn’t just about our bodies – it’s about our whole selves: how we feel, how we connect with others, and our relationship with God.  

Jesus didn’t just heal people physically; he helped them feel like they belonged again, and gave them hope. He told his followers to keep doing this work, and we believe God equips us to do it. Jesus’ life, death and resurrection are the foundation of Christian healing – they show us about how much God wants the world to flourish. We believe medicine is a gift, but deeper healing is bigger: it’s about being loved by God, staying connected to others, and finding hope and peace whatever we’re facing – even when a cure isn’t possible. 

Christian healing ministry is rooted in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and in God’s desire for the flourishing of all creation.  

Our work and vision are founded on Jesus, whose ministry of connection, healing and reconciliation shows us God’s heart for humanity and all creation. GoHealth is our response to Jesus’ call to follow him – emboldened and held by the Good News of the resurrection.  

Throughout Scripture, we encounter a God who heals, restores, reconciles and brings life. The Hebrew word shalom captures this vision: not simply the absence of illness or conflict, but a deep sense of wholeness, peace, right relationship and wellbeing in every part of life. 

When Jesus proclaimed that he had come so that people “may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10), he revealed God’s desire for abundant life.  

This flourishing is not dependent upon perfect circumstances. Rather, it is found through a growing relationship with God, who is present with us in joy and sorrow, health and illness, strength and weakness. Christian healing is therefore not simply about the removal of symptoms or the curing of disease. It is about becoming more deeply connected to God, to ourselves, to one another and to the world around us. 

The healing miracles of Jesus point towards this deeper reality. Again and again, Jesus restores people not only physically, but socially, emotionally and spiritually. He reconnects those who have been isolated, welcomes those who have been excluded, forgives, restores dignity and renews hope. Healing in the Christian tradition is always concerned with the whole person. 

Today, science increasingly confirms what Scripture has long taught: human beings are profoundly interconnected. Our physical, emotional, social and spiritual lives influence one another. Relationships matter. Community matters. Meaning matters. Hope matters. We are not simply bodies that need repairing, but whole people whose wellbeing emerges from the complex interaction of mind, body, spirit and relationships. 

This is why we value both medicine and healing ministry. Modern healthcare plays a vital role in relieving suffering, treating disease and pursuing cure wherever possible. We celebrate the gifts of medicine, science and healthcare professionals. Yet cure and healing are not the same thing. Medicine often aims for cure; Christian healing ministry seeks healing and wholeness. A person may be cured without experiencing deep healing, and a person may experience profound healing even when a cure is not possible. 

At the heart of Christian healing is relationship with God. We believe that God is present and active in every circumstance, drawing people towards peace, hope, courage, reconciliation and love.  

We believe that prayer matters. We cannot always predict how God will act, nor do we claim that every illness will be removed. Yet we have confidence that prayer always makes a difference because it opens us to God’s presence, power and grace. Through prayer, people encounter comfort, strength, wisdom, healing, reconciliation and a deeper awareness that they are loved by God. 

At GoHealth, we seek to nurture this holistic vision of health and healing. Empowered by God and inspired by Jesus’ command to heal, we bring together faith, community, lived experience, scientific understanding and healthcare practice.  

We believe that healing has always been at the heart of God’s relationship with creation and that the Church has a distinctive role in helping people discover hope, wholeness and flourishing. 

Whatever we face, illness or wellness, certainty or uncertainty, life or death, we are never beyond the reach of God’s love. In the Christian story, death is not a failure but part of the journey into the fullness of life with God. Healing ultimately finds its deepest expression in communion with God, who is making all things new and inviting us, even now, into the abundant life of Christ.
