Holism in Health & Healing
In the 2015 issues of Chrism we are recalling the Guild of St Raphael’s century of endeavour in promoting the ministry of healing through prayer, sacrament and collaboration with health care professionals. In the Spring issue we focussed on prayer and sacrament. In this issue we look at holistic healing from the perspectives of a forwardthinking doctor and researcher, an ordinand facing serious health challenges, and a religious academic and university chaplain who teaches sacred dance. Together their narratives paint a fascinating portrait of the complexities of trying to think holistically about heath and healing. The consideration is enriched further by Dominic White’s exploration of The Cosmic Cross and the cosmological nature of our faith, an article based on his contribution to the CSTH Summer School on A Cosmological and Ecological Approach to Healing.
