“How does my own healing relate to the way I invite others to follow Jesus?”

Jesus tells us to go and make disciples and to heal. But often inviting others into the faith carries risk and the fear of rejection. Indeed, you may even be carrying the wounds of such rejections and other experiences which lead us to doubt ourselves.

The Bible is full of great characters and examples of the faith who have felt unworthy of the call of God and unable or too wounded to do what God is asking of them. But could these very same wounds be transformed into our greatest assets as we become a healing presence, or as Michael calls it a ‘wounded inviter’?

Being part my church pastoral team has exposed me to deep pain and suffering amongst our congregation, this course has given me greater insight into human nature and confidence to care for people more adeptly. Maxine T.

In his course, Michael Harvey, invites us on a journey into healing through responding to God’s call in our own life, a journey that can lead to deep healing. He talks about the ‘Invisible wounds’ that hold us back from sharing our faith, the biology of courage and the benefits of stress – and at each turn reflecting on theology, science, mission, psychology and our own reconciliation with a God who loves us.
