The Revd. Philip Evans
Trustee
Philip grew up in Liverpool, then studied Modern Languages and Law at Cambridge, and worked in Whitehall at the Department of Energy for nearly ten years, before being ordained in the Church of England in 1990. His ministry has alternated between parish and hospital chaplaincy roles, the latter spanning 15 years - as Head of Chaplaincy at St James's University Hospital in Leeds, and as Lead Chaplain at St Andrew's Healthcare in Northampton (a charity providing secure mental health care). In chaplaincy Philip's particular interests have included exploring how Christian healing ministry relates to the healthcare context, integrating spiritual care into overall clinical care, and evidencing the measurable impact of faith and spiritual care on health outcomes. Currently Associate Vicar of Moulton in Northamptonshire (on a half-time basis) Philip is a Tutor for PRiME (Partnerships in International Medical Education), is campaigning for the restoration of chaplaincy provision in Northamptonshire's hospices, and is seeking to advocate for the local church to be 'chaplain' to primary care provision through partnerships and social prescribing. He is an Everton fan, cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats (then bought an electric bike), and the high point of his week is seeing his two young grandchildren. He is keen to encourage GoHealth in its promotion of integrated holistic care, and fostering partnership between healthcare provision and Christian ministry.
The Revd. Dr. Eleanor Williams
Trustee
Someone once told me I was a ‘Vic-Doc-Teach’, as at the time I was completing a part-time curacy, whilst still working as a General Practitioner in Cambridge, and teaching at the University of Cambridge Clinical School of Clinical Medicine. I moved into the Church of England full time in 2011, and am currently a Vicar serving two rural communities on the edge of the Fens, 10 miles from Cambridge. I think my medical background informs what I do and who I am, and the relationship between health and faith remains important in my ministry. I was drawn to GoHealth because of the emphasis on ‘whole person’ healing, health, and wellbeing, and am very pleased to be able to bring my past experience and gifts to the role of trustee.
Nicky Burr
Trustee
Nicky has a professional background in data and strategy. She currently works in the global data office of a large accounting and consulting firm, and previously worked for a Christian giving services charity building online giving systems and analytics. Nicky is based in Norwich where she is on the leadership team of an Anglican church and currently serves as a Deanery Lay Chair. Nicky has a keen interest in health and healing in the context of mission and is currently exploring opportunities to develop closer connections between the church and local community. Nicky is transgender and she recognises her transition as a significant part of her ongoing healing journey.
The Revd. Rod Clark
Trustee
I’ve been involved in the Christian healing ministry for over forty years, usually in parish and local church settings and am passionate about the healing potential of Christian faith communities.
I worked in the social housing sector for many years and hold the Professional Qualification of the Chartered Institute of Housing and have also worked in strategic social services management. I changed direction mid-career to be ordained into Church of England ministry and served in three parishes in Staffordshire alongside other roles as a Rural Dean and more latterly a diocesan role in leading deliverance ministry. I retired from being a Vicar in 2023 and am part of a parish in Lancashire, living in and sharing ministry in an area of need and deprivation.
I hold degrees in History from Oxford University and a Master of Theology from Liverpool and a Master of Professional Studies in Practical Theology from Chester University, the latter based on research into the meaning and construction of healing ministries.
Through my working life, and my voluntary commitments which have included a variety of governance roles in a housing association, schools and one of the largest Citizen’s Advice Bureaus in the country, I’ve tried to encourage and develop healthy organizations which model holistic perspectives on well-being and human flourishing. I’ve also been privileged to be part of agencies which seek to address the impacts of social and health policies on people’s life experiences.
I remain passionate about encouraging the church to grasp and grow its healing potential and live out more fully the call of Jesus to fullness of life, bearing witness in an embodied way to the hope of the gospel of Jesus. I am excited about being part of the Guild and look forward to contributing to its growth.

DR DAVID MCDONALD
Trustee
After qualifying as a medical doctor, preparation for an intended career in general practice included a post in psychiatry – and I stayed: It was so interesting and rewarding. My forensic work in prisons and secure units revealed that mentally unwell adults were actually disturbed children; the majority of adults with psychiatric disorder have a history of symptoms starting in early life. This led me to further train as a child psychiatrist and thereafter as a family therapist and psychotherapist for individuals and groups. I came to see that adverse experiences in the early years carried a significant component of spiritual harm as well. As a consultant in NHS practice for over 30 years, involvement in the healing ministry of the Church, and a particular interest in the deliverance ministry, has given me a continuous role in training and support for clergy and pastoral teams.
Commonalities I found between psychology and theology in understanding dis-ease in individuals and society, I put to academic use in study for an MA in interreligious dialogue and an MSc in psychotherapy. I fully trust the potential for health and healing in communities that will lead us to total salvation through Christ’s ministry for all peoples.
