On 21st November, delegates gathered from all over Scotland and the north of England to explore the many ways that a church can be a hub for healing for the whole community. The afternoon showcased a number of projects and organisations that were running in churches. These included Dementia groups, Capacita, Fischy music which works with children’s spirituality and Finn’s place which is a church based wellbeing group. The day was concluded with a presentation by Guild CEO, Gillian Straine, who talked about the Healthy Healing Hub project which seeks to support and resource churches to be a place of healing for the community, and is aiming to be an umbrella organisation for all the amazing projects and talented people already working in this area. The event was run in partnership with The Church of Scotland, and for a full report please see the next issue of Guild news (please join to get your copy).
