Guild News Jan 2018

The Director's Thoughts

Welcome to the first Guild News of 2018! New year editions of magazines trade on the idea of resolutions and new beginnings. If you buy these magazines, you might be get help with your resolutions to ‘Get fit and fabulous in 2018’, or some version of this.

At the Guild, we are all for resolutions and new beginnings, but our ideas are a little different from most high street magazines. Our faith is that new beginnings are always possible with God who forgives. We are also into resolutions and plans on improvement, but ours are all about a God who delights in us, a God who longs to be in relationship with us and for our work in the flourishing and the growth of God’s purpose and Kingdom.

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29: 11-13

What do you look ahead to this year? In the Guild, we are looking forward to connecting to branches, improving our outreach and lots of exciting events. Perhaps you might want to include the Guild in your plans for the year ahead: could you grow your branch by inviting just one person? Might you plan to attend one of the Guild events? Why not get in touch with me to plan an event, or with help reaching out into your community to promote health and healing? Do keep in touch, especially if you would like me to visit your branch, and keep an eye on the website for the events in 2018. If you are on Facebook, do ‘Like’ our page:
