From Florence Nightingale to The Sisters of The Holy Rood- to the healing work of the Guild and Holy Rood House today
with guest speaker: Veronica Whitty.
We are very pleased to welcome Veronica Whitty. Veronica is a writer and researcher within the Catholic Faith. Among her many areas of interest Veronica researches the lives of people who have made a significant contribution to our thinking and our faith. One such person is Florence Nightingale, whom Veronica will bring to life for us as we continue our commitment to the ministry of healing.
The Revd Elizabeth Baxter will introduce us to ‘The Sisters of the Holy Rood’, who set up the first Cottage Hospital in Coatham, Middlesbrough, and we will explore the legacy they have left us
within the healing ministry. The Revd Gillian Straine will take us through the development of the ministry of healing through the important work of The Guild today.
Our hosts will be The Revd Elizabeth Baxter, Executive Director of Holy Rood House & The Revd Dr Gillian Straine, Director of the Guild of Health & St. Raphael.
